FELLOW NIGERIANS

While we're busy enjoying the intrigues of the World Cup, an unfortunate incident occurred.

Hope say you hear?

A tanker carrying fuel exploded along Otedola Bridge, Lagos Ibadan Expressway. The inferno was reported to have engulfed over 50 cars and claimed several lives.

'Najja no good, but nobody wan die' before nkor?

As more drama unfolds, thousands of opinions were birthed.

Mama Nkiru, my noisy neighbor said something. You want to hear?

She said that it's a sign of time. Shey Apocalypse don come ni? God dey vex? (I laugh in Spanish)

E never end o?

Another set of people claimed the incident is a ritualist killing. That some wealthy men are renewing their wealth with human lives. That one shock me o?  the yearly accident at Ibadan linked to Guru Maharaji? (No be me talk am o)

We're in dilemma o! Na which dance we go use rock dis gbedu?

Where's the Kalakuta Gomina o? He's an active leader nah. The loss of human lives isn't a joking matter. Arrgh!  Naija SHA!

Fellow Naijarians, una dey siddon look? Issokay o. After now, you'll tagged it a propitiation to appease the 'gods' to stop more evils.

Well, yours truly is sitting at the corner of his room sipping beer. I sha cannur come and kill myself?

The Naija drama seems to be 'seasonless' - more chapters yet to be discovered. Lemme sha be observing...

But one thing amuses me, the fact that several peoples are throwing more blames on the government. The tanker driver nkor? Fine, realists like myself might tag this unfortunate incident as a result of the government's failure to take the right actions.

You suprise?

Yes, the government should formulate a policy that restricts the movement of tankers and trucks during day and equally ensure that proper implementation is fully realized.

Ehn ehn. Back to the matter.
What if the tanker driver was drunk driving? Or maybe he lost control of the brakes? Only heaven knows!

And someone even blamed the dead persons. Nawa ooo.
He was like 'why didn't they run for dear lives?'. Seems he doesn't know that inflaming petrol runs faster than Usain Bolt!

I almost forgot sha...
I heard one prophet claimed he saw a vision that the inferno will occur. Wehdon Sir o. You no fit see Naija as one of the top accident-free countries abi? Arrrrrgh issokay o.

Nothing will separate me from the love for Fela o. 'Suffering and smiling' - one track sang by the late afrobeat legend that popularized the music scene in the 80s. Do you know that Abami Eda was referring to Nigerians? Yes ooo. We're smilingly suffering and smiling sufferingly.

My people, make una no continue to dey look while countless lives are lost. Make we take our share of the responsibility and make naija better.

Till we come your way again,

*Tinuade et Intellect*
