RECALIBRATION 15
And the Angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. (Judges 6:12)
Today's snippet is going to be unveiling to us the lens through which God sees us most especially the new creation in Christ. There are two very consequential revelation that the new creation must capture which are the revelation of who the new man is in Christ and the revelation of the Christ in a man but these two revelations can be unlocked in our oneness with the immortal (1 Corinthians 6:17) such that when you know Him(Christ) you know yourself( believer). *The extent to which you know Christ will determine the level of revelation that you will capture about yourself; my point is the more He is revealed the more you're known*
In our anchor verse we saw the verdict of heaven clearly heralded about a man who didn't really know who he was, he was just meandering and majorly threshing wheat by the winespress according to the previous verse of the same chapter but the immortal saw beyond his present status quo. This was a period in Israel that judges were reigning, they were used mightily by God to rescue Israel from their enemies as they constantly rebelled and disobeyed God, it was in the same epoch that Deborah the wife of lapidoth also ruled as judge in Israel.
At this point that the Angel appeared unto Gideon Israel had rebelled against God as their custom was and they were delivered into the hand of their enemies; the midianites to be precise for seven years so God was looking for a deliverer who will rescue them from their captors and the lot fell on Gideon. Amazingly the Angel of the Lord said unto Gideon and gave an appellation that was totally strange to him "Thou mighty man of valour", I'm sure at that point Gideon will be like are you referring to me or someone else because there was no traces of such verdict in his life. How did I know that? If you fast forward into verse 15 where Gideon replied the Angel after he was told to go deliver Israel his response was totally contrary to the qualities and attributes that the immortal referenced about him and by immortal I'm referring to God because what the Angel came to herald was ordered by God.
Let us quickly see his reply, And he(Gideon) said unto him, oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? Behold my family is poor in manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house, in other words Gideon was saying who am I? I am nothing. Brethren can i say something powerful to you the man in Christ is a man of valour, he is a superman and a deliverer. The day you said yes to Jesus you became a saviour, a battle axe and a weapon of war, Jesus saved us to be Saviours, how? Let's see obadiah 1:21" And *Saviours* shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the Kingdom shall be the Lord's.
There is a reality God sees about the believer that he is yet to see about himself, we are still suffering enormously from identity crisis that is why even with the colossal, infinite, galactic and gargantuan finished works of Christ on the cross many still believe they are under spell and curse and the popular word is even though you are a new creation you're still cursed. How does that relate? What is the meaning of a new creation? The being called the new creation is someone who has never existed before, no father, no mother, no ancestry, the new birth experience makes God your FATHER not your bloodline and in him there's no curse, no spell, no enchantment, no divination however you can operate under these realities if you acknowledge them in your life and if you refuse to enforce the revelation of the new you in Christ. The new creation man is a brand new species who has cut ties with background and switched into Christ's background, these are the things God sees about us but unfortunately we are not seeing it just like what God saw about Gideon and he didn't see about himself. *Nobody can place a curse upon you as a believer unless you permit it*
To corroborate the point I gave earlier let's flip our bibles to John 1:12-13 But as many as received him to them he gave power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on his name which were born, *not of blood*, *nor of the will of the flesh*, nor of the will of man *but of God*. The scripture I shared makes it so clear to us that we were not born of blood(your family), that means you don't have any ancestry except God so anything in your life that looks like traces to your bloodline you will need to attack it by the revelation of the new you in Christ because it is all lies from the devil, remember he's a liar from the beginning. I know religious minded folks and those who have battle experiences might not really flow with this but it doesn't change the truth of God's WORD nonetheless . A believer in Christ will need to do alot of mind renewal by the word so as to delete the knowledge of death in his soul. *The most victorious believer is the one who constantly renew his mind via the word*. Oh my! We were talking about Gideon, i don't know how I switched into this, maybe we'll take it from here in my next piece because I don't want the post to be pretty too long. Just before I wrap up think on these realities there are two fathers 1. God, 2. Satan, in God there are no curses, spells, enchantments etc but in Satan there are curses, spells, enchantments etc. Who is then your father? The choice is left for you to make.
