Unmasked Killer, Masked victims - Atinuke Agbeniyi

When a masked man barges into our homes the first thought that races across our minds is that he is probably a thief or a murderer until proven otherwise. The fear of people on mask (except scientist in the lab) is one that drives our bodies to make desperate decisions like 'running' or 'hiding'. Most times when unmasked men barge into our homes they tend to be more ruthless than the masked ones. Never in man's history have we had to be the ones to cover our faces from the killer, where the victim becomes the masked man! What an irony.

When nightmare becomes reality, we are sure this time that there's no waking up until we provide a permanent solution to the present problem. The unmasked killer has become a terror to nations and continues to traumatize many. Unlike the killer whose hands is covered in blood, the victim has become the one to wash his hands. Unlike the killer that has to change his cloths after a murder, the victim cannot risk exposing other persons so he has to first wash his cloths and take his bath.

When watching a horror movie, we know the serial killer to be one that isolates himself from the world in a deserted location. But reverse is the case. Once the killer touches a man, he has to live in isolation until recovery. This killer lingers on for too long and has become humans worst nightmare, and as long as it remains we would continue to remain masked.

Even worse is the fear of humans for humans. In this situation, everyone is a potential ticking time bomb that can explode at anytime unless discovered in time. You board a bus and there's extra precautions in how we relate with other passengers.
The unmasked killer is invisible to the human eye and deadlier to the human respiratory organ. And for as long as it remains, we will continue to remain masked
