RECALIBRATION 10
Today's snippet is going to take us further in the realities of Christ as we'll briefly x-ray the dichotomy between the Levitical order of priesthood and the priesthood of Christ. This snippet would help us appreciate more the finished work of Christ on the cross and I trust God to help us romance these measures in Christ.
One very pivotal reality that transpired during the Aaronic priesthood was that the High priest in those days offers sacrifices for HIS OWN sins and the sins of the whole Israel. Let's see Heb 9:7 " But into the second went the High priest alone once every year, not without blood which he offered for *himself,* and for the errors of the people. We see the High priest gaining procession into the most holy place to present the blood of the slaughtered animal on the mercy seat but the irony is that this offering was done by an imperfect man such that he's included in the sin atonement. This factor reveals to us that the Aaronic priesthood was imperfect because what God seeks is a sinless man without spot nor wrinkle and the only man in that category was Christ.
Jesus was given birth to via the seed of the word even though he was borne by human vessels who seems not perfect. How was Jesus conceived? He was conceived by the word, It was not the copulation of human vessels that gave birth to him so he was sinless even though he was born into the environment of sinfulness . What do I mean? Let's check the word Luke's Gospel chapter 1, an Angel of the Lord came to herald the message about the birth of the messiah unto a virgin called Mary, notice that Mary was a virgin and as at the time she got pregnant Joseph had not copulated with her, this is the reason why Joseph wanted to put Mary away privily when she was found with a child by the Holy Ghost( Matt 1:18-19) until heaven intercepted his plan and told him that which is conceived of her wife is of the Holy Ghost which means Joseph was just the foster father of Jesus, the original father is the Holy Ghost.
Let's take it further, so the Angel gave the prophecy about Jesus, telling us about is pre ordination and assignment on earth so Mary replied Angel Gabriel in verse 34, how shall this be, seeing I know not a man? The Angel replied the Holy Ghost shall *come upon thee* and the power of the Highest shall *overshadow* thee, therefore that *holy* thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the son of God. Mark those striking words in bold. One very important thing is that Jesus was holy from within his mother's womb, it was the DNA of God that was in Him, if the doctor's should run a DNA test of him it won't be traceable to Joseph but God. So how did Mary eventually conceive by the Holy Ghost? Let's rush down to verse 38 " And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; *be it unto me according to thy word*. And the Angel departed from her. The moment Mary received the word of the Lord in faith and responded with *be it unto me according to thy word* she was conceived of the child Jesus, it was the WORD that copulated with her to fertilize and facilitate that possibility of conception and someone is saying can words give birth? Of course it can, how ? Let's see 1st Peter 1:23 "Being *Born* again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible by the *WORD OF GOD* which liveth and abideth for ever. Even when you got born again God's word gave birth to you.
So we Jesus the sinless man made sin for us so as to finish the reality of sin. Notice Jesus didn't become sins but rather he became sin(nature), 2 Corinthians 5:21 for he hath made him to be SIN for us who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Notice that he didn't become sin for himself but for us, he is sinless unlike the High priest under the Aaronic priesthood. *All that Jesus did when he walked the earth was for us and not for himself* So Jesus became that entity (sin) which make men sin so that man could be free from sin, how did he become sin? Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and *the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all*, he became our sin offering likewise our scapegoat, his soul became an offering for sin (Isaiah 53:10). Christ became our high priest who obtained eternal redemption for us, therefore we have boldness to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus by a new and living way which he hath consecrated for us( Heb 10:19-20).
I will wrap up with this second important contrast between those priesthood. Do you remember that the high priest in the old testament does those rituals on yearly basis? This is done because the job was not perfect so he has to go yearly to remit and atone for their sins but not so with our own high priest. Jesus entered into that heavenly tabernacle and offered one sacrifice for sins forever and sat down on the right down on the right hand of God The old testament high priest could not sit down because his job is on going year in year out but our high priest sat down because there was nothing to do anymore only for his enemies to be made his footstool( Heb 10:11-13). The on going work of Jesus in heaven is making intercession for the saints( Heb 7:25)
The reality of this finished work of Christ must flood your soul to the point that light would break out for you to come into functionality else you will live far below what Jesus did on the cross for example a believer can still be stuck in the motions of sins due to inappropriation of the finished work in his soul via mind renewal and recalibration (see James 1:21)
