RECALIBRATION 14
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together ( Romans 8:17)
The subject matter in this snippet is very critical to behold. It is pertinent that we are animated with the life enshrined within this anchor scripture thereby conferring on us the possibilities located within the purview of our partnership with the immortal. I remembered many years ago when the light of this scripture broke out into me, it was as though a frequency and a ray permeated my essence such that there was a leap. Brethren it pays to see within the lens of who you became in Christ Jesus, when you know this and you constantly fellowship with His life, your exodus from the perpetual life of quagmire is in view.
Our anchor verse reveals to us that we are joint-heirs with Christ. This is a powerful revelation that every believer must be abreast with in order to enforce that which Christ achieved on their behalf. The word joint-heirs from the original means one who obtained something assigned to himself with others, a joint participants, a co heir, this means that all that Jesus achieved were achieved simultaneously by us through his death and resurrection. Let me be explicit enough so that you can get the full gist of my contemplation in this piece, the writer of Hebrews told us that Jesus was made better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they(Heb 1:4). Only heirs has access to inheritance, a stranger or an alien does not have access to an inheritance that belongs to a Son and we are co heirs with Jesus so when Jesus obtained this name, we also obtained it, the name of Jesus automatically became the name of the believer. *Note that the name of Jesus is the name of a race in Christ; this is the mystery of the mass production of many Jesus' on earth on account of his resurrection(John 12:24)* One Jesus died many Jesus' arose.. Hallelujah! The devil is in trouble. Imagine that one Jesus did all that he did when he walked the earth how much more now that he's replicated in SONS!
Let me proceed further by saying to us that the man in Christ has the legal right to use the name of Jesus, in fact the man in Christ became that name such that when you pray in the name of Jesus you disappear and he appears, this is the only reason why demons will obey you because they don't see you but Christ, for example when you give your ATM card to someone to use on your behalf, no matter the number of times the person slot the card in it'll always reveal your name not the person's name, in the same vein when you use the name of Jesus he's revealed but you're concealed. You became one with Him at resurrection so as he is so are you (1 John 4:17). *Listen brethren the name of Jesus is not just a nomenclature or an appellation but a system in God that legalizes the obeisance of every created thing or being whether visible or invisible* this is why Phillipians 2:9 says wherefore God has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth. Did you see that? The 3 dimensional world must make obeisance to that name and you remember that Jesus said whatsoever you ask the father in my name I will do, this is because the name became the personal property of the man in Christ, In fact if you don't have the name of Jesus as/in your possession you're not a believer.
Joint heirs largely means Equality in power, Position and Possession. I will in a short while elucidate on this aforementioned captions of the word joint-heirs and we'll begin with Equality in power, when Jesus arose from the dead in Matthew's gospel 28:18 He said All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth, go ye therefore and teach all nations.... but before he told them to go and teach all nations and do all manner of miracles, signs and wonders, do you remember the disciples were told to tarry in Jerusalem until they are endued with power?( Luke 24:49) because there was no way they could heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out devils without power. The fulfilment of what Jesus told them came to past on the day of Pentecost but prior to that time in Act 1:8 He told them but ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you. So the power Jesus retrieved belongs to us here and now, *please note that all that Jesus did was not for himself but for us.* Believers are not ordinary beings but powerful beings, this is why we heal the sake, cast out devils with confidence because Jesus paid the price.
Furthermore we are going to look at the second paramount reality that Jesus consummated on our behalf, Equality in position; on the strength of Jesus' finished work of the cross we were admitted into his seat note that I didn't say seats, we don't have our seats around him but in him because we are seated together with Him in heavenly places( Eph 2:6), for IN HIM we live, and move and have our being(Acts 17:28). So the believer lives in two realms simultaneously, He is representing us in heaven we are representing him on earth, he is the head and we are the body, we are inseparable, indivisible entity collapsed into one, just as you can't deliberately cut off your head from your head except you're a nincompoop and that day you cease to exist.
Lastly for today, Equality in possession; another word for possession is inheritance, property, ownership and just as we have previously seen, he gave us his name as an inheritance and we are his purchased possession( Ephesians 1:14). On account of his death, burial and resurrection he gave us all that pertains unto life and godliness and we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places ( 2Pet 1:3, Eph 1:3).
